U.S. Helped Shield Israel From Incoming Iranian Missiles: Report

On Friday, U.S. air defense systems and a Navy destroyer assisted Israel in intercepting ballistic missiles fired by Iran. The launches came in response to Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and senior military officials, U.S. officials confirmed. With Patriot and THAAD missile defense systems deployed across the Middle East, the U.S. was prepared to counter Iran’s multiple salvos. A U.S. Navy destroyer positioned in the eastern Mediterranean successfully intercepted some of the missiles aimed at Israel. In anticipation of further conflict, the USS Thomas Hudner was ordered to reposition eastward, and another destroyer was placed on standby. U.S. fighter jets are also patrolling regional airspace to protect American personnel and installations.

In light of the growing conflict, the U.S. has increased its troop presence in the Middle East from 30,000 to around 40,000. The USS Carl Vinson is operating in the Arabian Sea, with the USS Nimitz and USS George Washington available for potential redeployment to the region. Former President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Iran via Truth Social, urging the regime to make a nuclear deal or face further consequences. “Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left,” Trump wrote, emphasizing U.S. and Israeli military capabilities. As tensions rise, U.S. and Israeli forces remain on high alert, bracing for the possibility of additional strikes or escalations.
